Autologous blood therapy

Autologous blood treatment

Autologous blood therapy is a type of stimulation and regulation therapy. It serves to boost the immune system and stabilize health.
In autologous blood therapy, blood is taken from a vein in the arm and reinjected intramuscularly. Once taken from the vein, the patient's own blood is considered foreign, and when reinjected, it triggers an immune response in the body that stimulates the entire immune system. The production of white blood cells is stimulated, allowing them to fight viruses and bacteria more effectively.

Areas of application:

Acute and chronic infections
Allergies
Circulatory disorders
immunodeficiency
Susceptibility to infection
rheumatism
Atopic dermatitis
Poorly healing wounds

Autologous blood and allergies

A key advantage of autologous blood therapy for allergies is that it eliminates the need for complex and comprehensive antigen testing. The allergens, or allergy triggers, do not need to be known, eliminating the need for allergen testing. Furthermore, autologous blood therapy for allergies has particularly few side effects.
The principle of autohemotherapy for allergies is incredibly simple and understandable. In allergies, the body produces antibodies against environmental stimuli that are actually completely harmless. Autohemotherapy helps the body perceive these substances as largely harmless again.
In allergy treatment with autologous blood, the antibodies that trigger the allergy are structurally transformed. When the blood is reinjected, these newly structured antibodies suppress the pathogenic, i.e., disease-causing, antibodies. This approach in autologous blood therapy for allergies has a significant relief effect, especially in acute symptoms.
The process of blood modification and injection is repeated several times, so this allergy treatment acts like targeted training for the immune system. The goal is for the immune system to respond normally and healthily to allergy-triggering factors after autologous blood therapy.

Autologous blood and skin

Numerous skin conditions respond positively to autologous blood therapy – such as eczema, acne, fungal infections, skin irritation, and, last but not least, atopic dermatitis. The decisive healing factor is the importance of the immune system in the development of skin diseases. Various inflammatory sites cause skin inflammations such as atopic dermatitis; itching is caused by the release of histamine, and a weak immune system has been shown to promote the development of acne. With the help of autologous blood therapy, these symptoms can often be significantly reduced.
To date, autologous blood therapy has not been widely used to treat atopic dermatitis. However, the representative study conducted by the University of Exeter (UK) was a clear signal for autologous blood therapy in atopic dermatitis. This novel scientific finding will be followed by further, large-scale studies before autologous blood therapy can be used more widely for atopic dermatitis.
The study results also showed that autologous blood therapy for atopic dermatitis contributes to improved skin, but not solely to a better well-being. Autologous blood therapy is therefore clearly gaining ground and becoming an important adjunctive treatment for atopic dermatitis.
